How it all started.

Where it all started.

One summer a few years ago, my mom showed me a bag that she’d sewn and was talking about how easy it was. She had another roll of fabric and wanted to know if I wanted to try it. So I took the fabric and went home and searched up the YouTube video and it was sew much fun I made two of them.

Here we are August 2024. I’ve been kicking this idea around in my head for a while now. How can I combine my love of fabric with my love of teaching? If I start a fabric store I can create tutorials as well as start a store where I can teach others how to quilt as well as learn from the many talented people in our area!

Now I need to know what to call it. Having just completed my Doctorate Degree, why not Doc’s Quilt Shoppe? That’s a great name but what can catch people’s eye? Then I settled on Criminitly! Granny used this word when ever something went awry or frustrated her. I use it every time I discover I’ve sewn something on backward… (which never happens) and I’ve discovered over the years that my boys have picked up the phrase as well as hearing that my husband’s family has used it over the years.
